Software is hard to get right on paper. What sounds perfect in a spec often feels different once you start actually using it. By then a lot of time and money has gone in.

I build in small pieces, starting with the part that matters most. You see something working in week one and can tell me what's right and what isn't. We adjust as we go so everything that gets built is what you actually need, not what we guessed at the start.

Discovery

Every project starts with a conversation. We get to the bottom of what you actually need, who's going to use it and what the first version should do. You walk away knowing exactly what we're building first and why.

Build

This is where the work happens, one feature at a time. Every piece follows the same loop: plan it, build it, test it, get your feedback and repeat. You have something real to look at from the first week rather than waiting until everything is finished.

Ship

When you're happy with what's been built we make it live. Everything is handed over cleanly: the codebase, the infrastructure and anything you need to run it going forward. If new features come up later, we treat it as a fresh piece of work and start the process again.

A 30-minute call to understand your project, see what you need and check we're a good fit. No cost, no commitment.

Scoping session

£250 fixed

I map out exactly what we'll build and what it'll cost. You keep the plan either way and it's credited back if you go ahead.

Build rate

£400 / day

Once the build starts, I bill only for the days actually worked, never for time spent waiting on you.

Development starts with one week's payment in advance, then continues on fortnightly invoices for time worked.

Frequently asked

What if I don't know exactly what I want?

That's normal and completely fine. You don't need a finished spec to start. We work it out together on the first call and in scoping. Because everything's built in small pieces, you can steer and change your mind as we go rather than having to get it all right up front.

How much of my time will it take?

Less than you'd think, though a little input is essential since you're the one who knows the business. In practice it's one point of contact, a short weekly call to review progress and quick feedback when I share something. Beyond that, you can be as hands-on or hands-off as you like.

What do I own at the end?

Everything. The code, the infrastructure and all the project assets are handed over to you cleanly, so you're never locked in or dependent on me to keep things running.

It's just you. Is that a risk?

It's one less thing to go wrong: you deal directly with the person building your product, with no handoffs or lost context. If I'm ever unavailable you'll know straight away and won't be billed for days I can't work.

Can you take over an existing project?

Yes. Whether it needs new features, fixing or finishing off, we start the same way: a conversation to understand where things stand, then a scoping session to map the path forward.
